2002 vintage

DURFORT-VIVENS 2002 has an intense bright ruby colour. The bouquet offers exceptional precision and aromatic complexity. Initially spicy and peppery with notes of blackberries and strawberries and then aromas of black pepper and ginger. It starts off very smooth and generous. Full and delicate in the mouth. The excellent fresh finish is upheld by the persistence of the mineral and spicy aromas.

HARVESTING

Harvest dates:

- Merlot: 27 September to 2 October
- Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon: 2 to 14 October

Average yield: 28hl/ha

BLENDING

- Cabernet Sauvignon: 80%
- Merlot: 13%
- Cabernet Franc: 7%

We began to put the wine in barrels at the end of October 2002. This process was completed by mid November. The final blending took place in January 2003.

MATURING

Château DURFORT-VIVENS 2002 was matured in barrels for eighteen months with 40% new barrels. Fining was carried out in barrels with natural egg whites.
